This is a 1970s era long pink silk slip featuring hand embroidery on the front bodice and at the bottom right where there is a small slit to allow for movement.  The top and bottom edges are scalloped.  The straps are not adjustable.  It was made in China during the 1970s - China was producing quite nice quality during the 1970s.  Chinese production of this period is rare in the US as there was a US trade embargo on Chinese products until the early 1970s, and even then, trade between the US and China was sparse until the 1980s. This was found in Canada - Canada had a trading relationship with China during the 60s and 70s, so pieces made in China from that time can still be found.  Please note that the slip was too large for my mannequin, so was pinned back for the photographs.

Sizing:  Size 38 is indicated, and although this should fit a large size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking the style and cut of the slip in mind:

Bust:  40” around, but meant to hang loosely

Waist:  36” around

Length:  51”, measured flat

Length of straps:  7 1/2” fall, measured flat

Condition: This nightie is in great condition and looks like it saw no use, very crisp and clean and well stored over the years
